Over 100,000 children in our country have a parent that's incarcerated. Broken Chains Ministries - Children with Promise Youth Mentoring Program is designed to assist these young persons by providing an adult mentor that will encourage and motivate them in school work, family/friend relationships, career opportunities, life issues, etc. Studies have shown individuals that have had a mentor in their lives were 90% likely to succeed in life and not take the pathway to crime. If you can get involved and make an investment in a child's life today, your life experiences can make a difference.
For information on becoming a mentor through the Children with Promise Youth Mentoring Program or the Reentry For a Better Life Adult Mentoring Program, please call (863) 662-8022.
Children with Promise Angel Tree Program give gifts to a child that has a child incarcerated. Polk County alone have over 1000 children with a parent incarcerated; we provide 250 of these children with a gift from their incarcerated parent. The gift given is presented to the child from their incarcerated parent with a note from the incarcerated parent, we are encouraged to provide such a service as it is key a factor to reunite families while the parent is incarcerated for a seamless transition once the parent is released. We promote unity in family and encourage inmates to keep in touch with their children and/or families while incarcerated for a seamless reunification upon release.
